I feel enormously brave. I signed up for the Florida SCBWI conference for the workshop day. I can drive down in 2 hours, so I probably won't stay at the hotel. It is at Disney, which does not appeal, but I don't have to go to the park...
I am working on a picture book based on the little bugs I make (see icon). So I will take the picture book track this time. Wish I had had the money to go to the New England one, but maybe next year...
I have only been to one children's writers workshop, one organized bywpadmirer for a group she used to work with. It was fabulous and really helped me, but then my get-up-and-go got up and went and I was afraid to try, so this should help with that. Bob thinks it is a good idea.
Tomorrow I am having a virtual colonoscopy! Drink slightly less weird stuff and get a CT scan. Much easier than having your colon perforated. The funny thing is I am more scared than the first time, but fear is a feeling and therefore not rational, so I am trying to just feel it and let it pass. I am also wondering if the car will start, a tree fall on it as I drive out the dirt road, etc. It really makes me laugh, the way I can catastrophise.
Time for the last supper!

I just got the news today that I have to have both the colonoscopy and an endoscopy in two weeks. Trying to figure out why the heck I keep pooping so much. I wish I could do a virtual one...I'm sooooo not looking forward to my fabulous enema and colace cocktails. Blech!

Very cool on the workshop front. You're going to have a great time and learn a lot I'm sure.

I second wpadmirer about good vibes on the virtual colonoscopy thing. It sounds slightly less traumatic than a traditional one, but anything new is bound to cause some anxiety and worry.
