I am waiting for roasted almonds to come out of the oven (350 degrees for 12-13 minutes) and then I will be upstairs packing to drive down to Melbourne, FL tomorrow to talk about PTSD, which I do every year at the Vietnam and All Veterans Reunion. It is usually a lot of fun. I put it on Facebook this year hoping to get more people to come. I also wrote a new handout: My View of PTSD. It is a rewrite of my blog post last Veterans Day.
The next Thursday, I am flying out to El Paso to give 2 talks, one for staff and one for veterans and their families, at the VA Medical Center there. I am really happy about this. I love sharing what I know. Getting paid is nice too, even though I had to spend a long time on the .gov website to re-register my business. Do I have a security clearance or a fax or a contract with the VA? NOOOO! But I had to fill it all out. I must have typed my name and address eleventy times. And it never just said United States as the country. I had to drag down to the bottom from Algeria all the way to United States about 40 times. Well maybe I exaggerate. It was a lot.
The week after that we are going to Detroit and Bob is going to sign books and talk about flying Hueys in Vietnam at the dedication of one at the Yankee Air Museum, which also has WWII planes. That should be neat. We'll stay with the guy he flew most with in Vietnam, Jerry Towler.
I feel tired just thinking about all this. However I think all of them will be fun.
