Thankful Thursday
I'm thankful that I am here in the home of my heart at my camp in East Otisfield, Maine on Lake Thompson.
I'm thankful that my siblings have been pleasant, that I noticed that I want to resent them and keep looking for reasons. Old habits die hard! I have literally said to myself not to interpret things as insults or challenges. Acceptance is the answer. They are who they are. This was especially helpful yesterday when I went over to the camp we share and there were two pans on the kitchen floor. I realized that I had put them down for the dog to lick a few days ago. My brother had found them in the bedroom. She probably pushed them in as she licked. So I could have gotten mad that he put them in the kitchen on the floor, but instead I told him, after I washed them up, that I just can't get Maggie to put things in the sink after she licks them. I think he was ready for a fight and instead he got a joke. It was nice.
I'm thankful that my husband is working on my website so I don't have to, and that he is doing it despite all the variations in font in the materials I gave him.
I'm thankful my dog is everyone's best friend up here. She spent the day over with some kids that just got here, 3 camps over. I had to paddle over in my kayak to get her to come home. She loves kids.
I am thankful I have a kayak.
I'm thankful for the cool weather compared to Florida.
I'm thankful for woods and wildflowers and funny sticks...
Oh and most important, I'm thankful that I met Cynthia Lord at the Bridgton Library, heard her delightful presentation, got to get my books signed and talk a bit. She is wonderful.

I like your joke! And attitude. These things take a while. Sounds like there's a lot to be thankful for. The kayaking sounds great! And, yes, Cindy is a wonder of nature.

Oh! That sounds lovely, the two of you chatting in the library. :)

Maine is beautiful, from the pictures I've seen! And I'm sure it's a relief from the heat and humidity of Florida... Enjoy!

Just back from further family business in Scotland and took your book along to read. Fascinating stuff and thank you for sending it to me!

So glad you find it fascinating. It is pretty brutal, but I wanted other people to understand.
I want to go to Scotland some day.
